About our frames:

All of our frames are handmade and finished in our home using clear pine as the primary framing material and plywood for the backing. We ship pieces fully-wired and read-to-hang.

Our frames are simple and rustic and because they are handmade, they will sometimes have markings, slight gradients, imperfections, and grains in the wood. We offer 6 different staining options: Natural, Golden Pecan, Sandy, Walnut, Early American and True Black - please see photo below for color references. Once stained, each frame is finished with a coat of clear satin polyurethane for durability.

Note: Currently, we only frame our original paintings. Our prints (both paper & stretched canvas) will arrive unframed and we specifically created the prints in common sizes so framing would be simple and there would be many store-bought options to choose from. Please feel free to reach out of you’d like suggestions for framing prints, or would like help choosing a stain for your original painting.

About our staining choices:

Stain options range from Natural (very light) to Golden Pecan (minimal tone, but just slightly browner than natural) to Sandy (which mimics the framing in many of the site photos) to Walnut (brown with a hint of red) and Early American (a medium-tone brown) to True Black (a matte black stain).

Each frame can vary slightly depending on the natural markings, the grain and how that specific piece of wood takes the stain. Once stained, we finish the frame with a coat of clear polyurethane.
